Make it a Microsite and Bank your Bucks

If you’re like most people right now, you need to maximize your marketing without burdening your budget. Microsites may take on a life of their own and eventually form the core of a future Web site build out, but for the most part they should be considered temporary and be designed with a specific short-term purpose in mind, such as tracking a promotional campaign, conducting polls or surveys, or hosting a contest. When the goal is clear, microsites are relatively quick and inexpensive to launch and monitor while remaining true to the brand and strategy of your ‘main’ site.
